Remark! Community Playworker

Remark! Community is a Deaf-led charity set up in 2010 to support the Deaf community.

They are seeking a new playworker to contribute to the running of the play scheme including actively leading activities and supporting the Project Coordinator.

Principle accountabilities:

The post holder will have several key responsibilities which include:

Supporting children and youths

  • Help to ensure smooth running of the play scheme every school holiday.
  • Plan and deliver activities and games

Supporting the Playscheme Coordinator

  • Support Playscheme Coordinator to maintain effective working relationships with parents/carers and professionals including Social Workers, teachers, audiologists and venue staff
  • To help maintain accurate records such as attendance registers, accident and incident books and notify project coordinator of all such reports.

Remark! Living Registered Manager

Remark! Living works with service users who are elderly, disabled, or have additional needs and simply need our support to remain independent at home. We provide experienced BSL Support Workers who engage with older people or disabled BSL users, providing support in the home so they can remain at home independently. We provide a range of domiciliary services tailored to meet our clients' needs and are fully registered with the Care Quality Commission.

Due to team expansion and development we are seeking a new Registered Manager

Principle accountabilities:

  • Fulfil the responsibility of the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), ensuring integrity and accountability of everything we deliver through the Living service.
  • To oversee and manage quality assurance across all activities undertaken by the service provided by us, to ensure we adhere to all Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
  • Line-manage key members of the Living Team, including Administrators, and grow a positive working culture for the team.

Remark! BSL Level 3 Tutor

Remark! Ltd is one of the largest Deaf-led companies in the UK. Remark! Training has been providing high-quality BSL training with friendly, qualified Deaf tutors for over twelve years. We offer a variety of training – the majority of which is Signature accredited courses from BSL Level 1 to BSL Level 6 and also Interpreter courses and workshops.

Overall Purpose of the Job

The Tutor’s principal role is to deliver the Signature Level 3 Certificate in British Sign Language course to BSL students. You will be providing outstanding guidance and support for students in a positive and inspiring learning culture.
The Tutor will also be required to support the wider training team and provide cover as required for other BSL courses, bespoke company training, tutorials, and other workshops or courses as required held both at Remark! Leather Lane and externally within London as required.

Remark! Living Support Worker

Remark! Living support Deaf people with a wide range of additional needs or disabilities to help them to continue to live independently. Our specialist support workers are Deaf themselves and serve as role models for the clients they support. We are seeking new Support Workers to join our friendly and busy Living team.

Principle accountabilities:

  • Support young people with life choices
  • Accompany to arranged trips and outings
  • Travel training
  • Offer information and support on drugs, alcohol, sex and other teenage issues
  • Support with education or returning to education
  • Support with transition from school to college or college to work
  • Facilitate social opportunities and enable meeting of deaf peers
  • Help them understand more about the deaf community and their deaf identity
  • Provide information on life skills and budgeting
