WELCOME TO REMARK!

Adult services

Remark! Living supports Deaf people, including those with a wide range of additional needs or disabilities, to live independently and avoid isolation. Our support workers are Deaf BSL users themselves and therefore serve as role models for the clients they support, making our service unique. We provide extensive training and supervision to all of our support workers. Our work is closely linked to the work of Remark! Community.

Specialist Support

Remark! Living is an outreach service that supports Deaf people with a wide range of additional needs or disabilities helping them continue to live independently.

Our specialist support workers are Deaf and serve as role models for the clients they support. We provide extensive training and supervision to all of our support workers.

Mental Health

We provide support workers who are trained in supporting Deaf people who are suffering from a mental health condition. Our support workers can help Deaf people with a mental health condition to continue living independently at home after being discharged from hospital or from secure/sheltered accommodation.

Disability Support

We provide support workers who are trained in supporting Deaf people with additional needs or a physical disability. Our support workers work with clients to help them continue to live independently and to make their own life choices. We can support clients both at their home and within the community. We can also facilitate socialising opportunities to meet with Deaf peers, as well as supporting them with finding employment and training opportunities.

Learning Difficulties

Our support workers are trained and experienced in supporting Deaf people who have learning difficulties. We support Deaf people with learning difficulties to continue to live independently at home.

End of Life

End of life care is support for people who are in the last months or years of their life. Our support workers will provide tailored high quality support, ensuring that the care plan, comfort and dignity of the client are a priority. Our support also extends to family and those close to the client.

Deafblind Support

We provide support workers who are trained in communicating with Deafblind people and those with vision loss/visual impairment. We can also provide communicator guides for Deafblind people who need support with communication within the community.

Advocacy

Remark! Living has skilled and professional advocates to support and assist clients to manage their correspondence.

We all know how frustrating it can be when it does not feel like you are being heard. There are sometimes barriers in place which can be successfully removed with access to the right support.
Being a Deaf BSL user can sometimes mean it can be difficult to express yourself, your opinions and your ideas to others who may not understand. You may find yourself in difficult situations such as with health and social care professionals, and they may not give you the right access to all the opportunities and choices or you may not feel included in decisions made about your care.

Remark! Advocacy means getting support from another person who can help you express yourself, your wishes and your views. Your Advocate will help you stand up for your rights, and ensure your voice is heard.

If you have any concerns about your care, and accessing the right support - please contact us and we can help guide you.

Older People

Remark! Living provides experienced BSL carers who engage with older people or disabled BSL users in later life, providing support and care in the home. We can provide a range of domiciliary services tailored to meet your needs.

As people grow older, they find that they are no longer able to do the physical tasks that they were once able to do with ease. Many senior citizens require assistance with everyday tasks and will need help with getting around and getting things done. They may also appreciate having someone to keep them company and engage with intellectually. Assisting senior citizens with things like household tasks, hobbies, and activities will ensure that they can continue to live rich, fulfilling lives well into the golden years.
