Volunteer with Remark! Community

Remark! Community

Remark! is proud to reinvest profits back into the Deaf community via our charity arm Remark! Community. The aim of Remark! Community is to reduce isolation for Deaf people of all ages.

Volunteering with Remark! Community is a fantastic way to get involved in the Deaf Community whether you are a BSL student or Deaf yourself.

Remark! Community are always on the look out for enthusiastic and passionate volunteers to support various projects for Deaf adults and children it runs in and around the London area. These include volunteering at lunch clubs for older Deaf people as well as our Playschemes and Youth clubs for Deaf children in North London and a weekly club for Deaf Adults based in our Leather Lane building.

“Thank you to you to all the Remark! Community Playscheme staff for your continued work, you all have such enormous energy! The children are very fortunate to have the playscheme, you do amazing trips and great days in. My son is learning to sign and has a strong deaf identity, great adult role models, especially males (I think for boys strong male role models are extremely important, especially as they reach teenage years!) I can see that my son respects and looks up to you all. “

“I enjoy being involved in Remarks' many activities, it's immensely rewarding. I would encourage anyone to volunteer, it's not just the service users who benefit you get a great sense of satisfaction knowing you've helped someone. You have to do it for the right reasons though, you must always remember who you're doing it for - the service user, always. You can give as little or as much time as you like, the organisation will always make you feel valued no matter what.

I've volunteered for Remark for 5 years but have been doing voluntary work for the past 62 years!!!!”
