Remark! Community seeking new trustees

Remark! Community is seeking to recruit new Trustees to join their existing Board. This is an excellent opportunity to be actively involved in supporting and overseeing the charity and to contribute to the strategic direction, fundraising, project visits, project celebration events and other activities on an ad-hoc basis.

Remark! Community is a charity set up by Deaf people to work with the Deaf community. Their main aim is to reduce social isolation for the signing community by working closely with Deaf children, youths and older people by offering a variety of projects to improve the quality of their lives.

Their objectives are to:

Promote British Sign Language
Promote equality for Deaf people
Relieve social isolation and exclusion for Deaf people
Assist older deaf people with financial hardship
Encourage active lifestyles
Promote mental wellbeing amongst Deaf people

Trustees are required to be passionate, solution focused, positive and committed people who are keen to make a difference. They should be hands-on Trustees who have the time to actively make a difference to the growth of the charity.

Trustees are required to commit to a minimum term of 1 year, and to attend Board Meetings in Central London on a quarterly basis that are usually held during a weekday afternoon.
