Interpreting and CSW workshops: Ethics Workshop

Our upcoming workshop Interpreting in Ethics via ZOOM with Jason Bell is designed for CSWs, TSLIs and RSLIs.

Saturday 13th November 2021, 10am – 2pm.

The aim of this session is to cover in detail all the questions you want to know about ethics but was too worried to ask! This workshop will start from the basics including, ‘What are ethics?’ followed by a more in-depth look at the different ethical frameworks, such as; teleology, deontology, and virtue.

This workshop will also enfold the current codes of conduct and ethics for NRCPD and RBSLI and will give an overview of ethical dilemmas, actions and inactions whilst covering the principle of permissible harm/least harm in each situation. Lastly, this course will comprise ethical thought experiments and how ethics relates to BSL interpreters.
