Happy Ramadan from all of us here at Remark!
Toufik, our caretaker and Arfa, one of our in-house CSWs explain a little more about their experience of Ramadan and how they are looking forward to Eid!
Hi, my name is Toufik and I work at Remark! as the caretaker.
Hi my name is Arfa. This month is special because of Ramadan.
Toufik: I am Muslim and I have been fasting over the last 3 weeks, since April 13th.
Arfa: Fasting means we are not allowed to eat or drink anything from sunrise to sunset.
Toufik: I cope well with fasting and I am still full of energy. We stop eating at 4 in the morning and can only eat again at 8.30 in the evening.
Arfa: Ramadan is important because it strengthens our connection with Allāh. It also encourages us to help vulnerable people and be more charitable.
Toufik: At the end of Ramadan, we celebrate Eid. This means we will have a big celebratory feast with our families – it is beautiful! We will eat together and celebrate.
Arfa: Eid means we will celebrate and can enjoy food. Finally, I can have my morning tea again, hooray!
