BSL Refresher Workshops
Our refresher workshops are perfect if you’ve been feeling a bit rusty, for example you haven’t used your BSL in a while or you don’t feel ready to join a course. Whatever your reasons, we can help you to continue on your BSL journey.
We offer three refresher workshops:
- Level 1 BSL Refresher Workshop
- Level 2 BSL Refresher Workshop
- Bridging the Gap (between Level 3 and Level 6 courses)
Level 1 BSL Refresher Workshop
The Level 1 BSL Refresher Workshop is suitable for people who want to revise the skills they learned during their Level 1 BSL course. It may be the case that you haven’t been signing for a while, or that you don’t feel ready to start the Level 2 BSL course – whatever your reasons, this workshop will help!
The Level 1 BSL Refresher workshop will cover:
- Revise vocabulary from units BSL101, BSL102 and BSL103
- Practice understanding fingerspelling
- Deaf awareness
- Information about the Level 2 BSL course
Level 2 BSL Refresher Workshop
The Level 2 BSL Refresher Workshop is perfect for people who completed a Level 2 BSL course but are feeling a bit rusty in their skills, or for people who don’t feel ready to start the Level 3 BSL course.
Whatever your reasons, the Level 2 BSL Refresher Workshop will guide you through the Level 2 BSL course content so that you can continue your BSL journey.
We can also arrange any re-sits of assessments and give you feedback on your performance.
Bridging the Gap
If you have completed the Level 3 Certificate in BSL course and you would like to develop your skills and confidence before joining the Level 6 BSL course, then this is the workshop for you.
This course will cover:
- Language development
- Complex vocabulary
- BSL debates and discussions
- Non-manual features (NMFs)
- Multichannel signs
- Information about the Level 6 BSL course
- Information about the Level 6 BSL qualification requirements

Tuesdays 5pm - 7pm
To book onto this course you must have your Level 3 Certificate. You will need to produce a copy of this before your first lesson by either scanning or posting a copy of this to us.
There are no assessments in these workshops.
