A Deaf-blind man from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, has been honoured with a prestigious Royal Yachting Association award.

Twenty-three-year-old David Burton attended a six-week sailing course at the Walsall Outdoor Pursuits Centre, organised by Sense, a national deaf-blind organisation.

The Royal Yachting Association recognised his commitment and passion for sailing by awarding him the bronze national sailing award.

Speaking to the Bromsgrove Advertiser, Jon Fearn of Sense said: "Congratulations to David - this is a fantastic achievement. He has displayed a real aptitude for sailing and I hope will continue to enjoy getting out on the lake."
