Deaf cricketer to carry Olympic torch

England Deaf cricketer James Dixon has been handed a dream opportunity to carry the London 2012 Olympic Torch in the build up to the Games this summer.

Twenty-five-year-old Dixon, who is from Bootle in Merseyside, studied sports coaching at  the University of Central Lancashire,  who have nominated him to carry the torch in recognition of his sporting achievements.

He will carry the torch between Kendall and Blackpool, with the exact location and time revealed in March.

Dixon is one of 8,000 torchbearers who will carry the Olympic flame this year.
