Public buildings in Jersey are inaccessible to Deaf and hard of hearing people, according to an audit commissioned by the Jersey Deaf Society.
The audit found facilities, such as video relay interpreting and loop systems, are required in banks, the police station, and the local hospital.
Angela Goddard, the island's only social worker for Deaf and hard of hearing people, said the audit was commissioned by the deaf society after their members reported difficulties in some venues.
According to the Jersey Deaf Society, there are about 4,500 hearing aid users including 70 children in the isle.
