Derbyshire Council to change Deaf services

Derbyshire County Council have drawn up plans to change how services for Deaf residents are organised.

A range of different agencies and services working with people of all ages will be replaced by one dedicated service for Deaf adults, and one for children and young people, both to be provided by the council.

County councillor Charles Jones, cabinet member for adult care, explained people using these services will be informed by letter, and the council will hold face-to-face meetings to discuss changes.

The change will come into force on Tuesday 1st May 2012.
